New Track with Next Channel / MIDI Channel ⌃↩ – Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

New Track with Next Channel / MIDI Channel ⌃↩

Create a new track using the next channel. Increments MIDI channel by 1. Creates new audio and software instrument channels as well.

I don’t get to create tracks in this way, being led by my mixing work, and possibly misled by workflows I have learned.

On the X-Touch the key sequence is SHIFT+OPTION SELECT where SELECT is one of the 8 channels. Creates a new channel to the right of the selected channel.

Something to experiment with.

Create tracks using existing channel strips in Logic Pro – Apple Support

This command creates a new track below the selected track, and assigns the next channel strip to it. If no next channel strip exists, one is created automatically.
