New Arpeggiator — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day (KCotD)

  New Arpeggiator

Create a new Arpeggiator object in the MIDI Environment (Logic Pro Environment).

I suspect that I will never use the Arpeggiator in the environment opting to use the Arpeggiator MIDI plugin instead.

Arpeggiators in the Logic Pro Environment — Apple Support

An arpeggiator object turns chords into arpeggios. It plays the currently held notes—individually—in a selectable pattern (up, down, random, and so on), and at a selectable speed that ranges between whole notes and 768th notes.

Use the Arpeggiator in a Logic Pro project — Apple Support

You can use the Arpeggiator MIDI plug-in with the Smart Controls on a software instrument track. When you turn on the Arpeggiator, chords you play on the keyboard are arpeggiated, or played one note at a time rather than simultaneously.

Select Playing Cells — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day (KCotD)

  Select Playing Cells

Select all of the cells that are currently playing. I can imagine using this command to prepare to completely stop a Live Loop playback.

Edit Live Loops cells in Logic Pro — Apple Support

Parameters for selected cells appear in the Cell inspector, which replaces the Region inspector when cells are selected. When you select a single cell, the title bar of the Cell inspector shows the cell name; when you select multiple cells, the title bar shows the number of selected cells.

Select Members of Group 50 — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

  Select Members of Group 50

Selects all channels (and tracks) that are in group 50. I used to complain that groups above 32 were not possible, even though there are commands to select them. The documentation says maximum of 32. The documentation is wrong. You can now have 64 groups.

Unlikely that I will ever need that many.

Overview of groups in Logic Pro — Apple Support

You can have a maximum of 32 groups, and a channel strip can be a member of multiple groups.

New Tracks for Overlapped Regions — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

  New Tracks for Overlapped Regions

Separate overlapped regions onto new tracks using the same channel strip. This allows you to see and work with information that is hidden.

As I think about it tracks basically contain instructions for sending output to a channel. The documentation considers using a drum machine — multiple, different sounds, and tracks for programming the machine.

I would use multiple tracks per channel for my software instruments EZdrummer, Miroslav Philharmonik, and SampleTank.

Create tracks using existing channel strips in Logic Pro — Apple Support

New tracks are created for wholly or partly overlapped regions, which are redistributed across the newly created tracks. A new track is created for each overlap. All tracks use the same channel strip as the original track. In other words, only one channel strip is used for all tracks.
