Open Metronome Project Settings… — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day (KCotD)

  Open Metronome Project Settings…

Opens the Metronome Settings. I have never played with the metronome settings — I mostly do playback. It is kind of nice to be able to have the metronome be a MIDI device. It is also nice to be able to send the metronome to any of the stereo pairs available on your audio interface.

The Metronome project settings combine all parameters for speaker click, MIDI click, and Klopfgeist—a virtual metronome sound source. Klopfgeist can be used in addition to, or in place of, the speaker and MIDI click sources.

Klopfgeist is an instrument that provides a metronome click. It is inserted in instrument channel strip 256 by default and is used to generate the MIDI metronome click.

Double Cycle/Loop Length ⌥⇧⌘. — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day (KCotD)

  Double Cycle/Loop Length ⌥⇧⌘.

Doubles the cycle length. The cycle area is lengthened in a forward motion. This becomes important if you change your mind and want to ‘Halve Cycle/Loop Length ⌥⇧⌘, — Halving shifts the start of the cycle forward in time. The only way to make the cycle smaller leaving the start position alone is by moving the cycle end mark backwards

Use the cycle area in Logic Pro — Apple Support

You can use the cycle area to repeatedly play a particular part of a project. The cycle area can be used for composing, practicing a part before recording, recording multiple takes, and other purposes.

  Toggle Cycle Preview ⌃C

One of the many commands that have no particular documentation.

In the Project Audio Browser window there are playback controls. Play, Cycle, and Volume. The Cycle button is the named ‘Cycle Preview’ button.

When the Cycle is enabled the selected audio region will loop on playback.

Clean up Project… — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day (KCotD)

  Clean up Project…

I would start with the ‘Consolidate Project’ command –

Go to Marker Number 12 𝍖⌃2 — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day (KCotD)

Go to Marker Number 12 𝍖⌃2

Move the playhead to marker number 12. The ‘Go to Marker’ keyboard commands are assigned to the keypad on the extended keyboards. I rarely jump to a specific marker, preferring to move forward and backward between them.

I try to create markers that have a definite length so I can set the locators and enable cycle for the current marker. I use the Marquee tool to select an area followed by commands to create the marker and cycle. Once that is done I can step through the marked locations in the project and work on the specific area.

The marker numbers in these commands refer to the (serial) order of all markers in the project. By default, when you create a marker, the name shows the marker number.
