Toggle Pre-Fader Metering — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

  Toggle Pre-Fader Metering

Toggles between pre-fader and post-fader metering. The mixer visual changes with the meter to the left or right of the fader, left is pre-fader.

NB Pre-fader metering is post-insert — after all the plugins!

Set Pre-Fader Metering — Apple Support

The level meters normally show you the signal level after the channel strip volume fader. This is the most effective way to use the level meters during mixing your project. However, you can also set the level meters to show you the signal level before the channel strip volume fader, called pre-fader metering. You may want to use pre-fader metering when you want to adjust a signal using the controls on your audio hardware before recording.

Set Move Track Automation with Regions to Never — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

Set Move Track Automation with Regions to Never

Do not move track automation when moving a region. Region automation remains with the region, so it moves or does not depending on the setting.

Select, copy, and move automation in Logic Pro — Apple Support

In Logic Pro, choose one of the following Move Automation with Regions options in the Preferences > Automation pane:

 - Global Commands
Set Move Track Automation with Regions to Never ⌃⌥⇧⌘⌦
Set Move Track Automation with Regions to Always ⌃⌥⇧⌘↘
Set Move Track Automation with Regions to Ask ⌃⌥⇧⌘⇟

Next Sampler Instrument — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

  Next Sampler Instrument

Switch to the next Sampler Instrument. The Sampler is opaque to me. Some day I may pursue learning about sampling, and probably compare using Sampler or Alchemy for working with samples.

Load and save instruments in Sampler — Apple Support

A sampler instrument is the file type that is loaded into Sampler with the plug-in Settings pop-up menu. When you choose a sampler instrument, the associated audio files are automatically located on the hard disk (or disks) and are loaded into your computer’s RAM.

Toggle Level of Auxiliary Channel Strips — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

Toggle Level of Auxiliary Channel Strips

Swap (toggle) between two different levels for all of the Auxiliary channel strips. Nice tool to have when mixing. Set the mix bus levels to the same for each part of the toggle and you will be able to turn off/down things like reverbs and other send effects.

Set channel strip volume in Logic Pro — Apple Support

You can set the volume level of each channel strip independently, balancing the relative volume of the tracks in your project. You can also quickly switch between two different volume levels on a channel strip.

Toggle Hide Group 37 — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

  Toggle Hide Group 37

Show or hide the channels in group 37. There is no group 37. The maximum group number (currently) is 32.

Edit group membership in Logic Pro — Apple Support

You can add a channel strip to, or remove a channel strip from, single or multiple groups. You can also temporarily disable all group parameter links—applying a Group Clutch—to change the volume of an individual channel strip, for example.

Hiding groups hides channels in the mixer, and associated tracks in the Main Window.
