Select Same Subpositions ⇧P — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

  Select Same Subpositions ⇧P

With an event selected pressing Shift-P will select all of the events that start at the same position in a bar. If there is only one event at that position the currently selected event is de-selected.

Very useful for editing notes.

Select events in the Logic Pro Event List — Apple Support

Same Subposition (or press Shift-P): Selects events that start at the same position within their respective bars.

Bounce Tracks in Place ⌃⌘B — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

  Bounce Tracks in Place ⌃⌘B

Render all tracks to audio files. I like to do this when I finish a mix. I keep the effects plug-ins enabled, but typically leave Volume and Pan automation off…I use the Bounce and Replace version of the command.

If I have summing stacks in place an effective “stem” is created for the members of the stack.

Bounce all tracks in place in a Logic Pro project — Apple Support

You can perform an in-place bounce-and-replace for all audio, software instrument, and Drummer tracks in the Tracks area.

Activate Next Track Alternative ⌃⌥↑ — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

  Activate Next Track Alternative ⌃⌥↑

Switch to the next track alternative. I have used project alternatives extensively for my live recordings. Track alternatives are arrangement tools. All of the tracks share the same channel strip and settings.

Use track alternatives in Logic Pro — Apple Support

You can create and edit track alternatives and switch between them. Each alternative can contain different regions or arrangements, while sharing the same channel strip and plug-ins. Track alternatives are like “playlists” for individual tracks that can be used to try out different ideas or archive tracks at different stages of development.

Copy to Live Loops ⌘ — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

  Copy to Live Loops ⌘

Copy the selection (regions) to Live Loops cells.

I need to investigate using Live Loops. It is such a different way to use Logic than as a simple recorder or arranger.

Work with Live Loops cells in Logic Pro — Apple Support

Using the Copy to Live Loops key command in Logic Pro, you can copy various combinations of regions to new scenes, depending on what you have selected in the Tracks area. This is especially useful for populating a Live Loops grid in an existing project containing many different regions, sections, or markers. You can copy any of the following to Live Loops:

Nudge Region/Event Length Right by Beat — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

Nudge Region/Event Length Right by Beat

Make the selected event longer by one beat. One of the particular oddities of the Logic Pro documentation. The only mention of nudging by length is in reference to movies (soundtrack) and in the Score Editor.

Rather than creating a separate key command for this I would simply use the ‘Set Nudge Value to Beat ⌃⌥B’ and then use the ‘Nudge Region/Event Length Right by Nudge Value ⌥⇧→’ command.

Move notes in the Piano Roll Editor in Logic Pro — Apple Support

You can move selected notes in the Piano Roll Editor to change their time position. When you move notes, they move according to the current Snap value for the Piano Roll Editor.
